THE SPA at BREAKERS RESORT, UMHLANGA

Pool Deck at Breakers Resort_Fotor

About a month ago, I was treated to a morning of indulgence and pampering at The Spa at the Breakers Resort in Umhlanga.  It gave me some much needed TLC and (SPOILER ALERT), you simply MUST pay them a visit.

Oh how he spoils me so…. (**,)  #love

I digress… I digress….

Our treatments included:

Full body Swedish Massages

Head Massages

Deep Cleanse Facials

Rasul Steam Room Treatment

Floatation Pool

The massages were wonderful, it left me limber and relaxed! My skin glowed after the deep cleanse facial (I must admit however, that I never get used to that extraction loop. Oh the pain! Gees!)

I had never been to a Rasul Chamber before – we had to lather ourselves with different types of clay, sit in the steam room and allow the impurities on our skin to be removed. My skin felt softer and looked brighter thereafter. We were then told to dip into this “pool” – the water was cold, I dipped my toes in and gave it a miss!

Then came the Floatation Pool  – that’s exactly what I did for the next  30 minutes – floated along and forgot about my troubles haha it was SO relaxing!

Overall an exceptionally pleasant experience.

The Couples package was R890 pp (and we chopped a few things around in terms of time to squeeze in additional treatments).

I am a fuss pot when it comes to spas – I need more than just the basics of hygiene and so-so treatments. This place occupies a modest space within the resort, but the staff are highly skilled. My only gripe was the constant ringing of the telephone at reception while my treatments were in progress. It seems as though the receptionist doubles as a spa therapist leaving the front desk unattended. Perhaps they opt for fewer staff on weekends? Who knows! But all in all, a solid 7/10.

Yours in medium-pressure massage 😉
